FME 2024.2 Release

FME 2024.2 introduces powerful enhancements like a smarter “Quick Add” for faster search, encrypted password deployment for added security, and a revamped Examples Gallery for improved usability. Key integrations include a Generic XYZ Tiled Web Map for spatial visualization, Navisworks reader for AEC workflows, and Azure Synapse support for Microsoft Fabric. New AGI NI Chair Announced

We are delighted to announce that our own Andrew Paul, Managed Service Lead at IMGS was recently appointed as the New Chair of the AGI Northern Ireland Board.

Andrew started out his career in the Geospatial Industry as an aerial surveyor and photogrammetrist after completing an MSc in GIS at Ulster University. Andrew moved on to become the Spatial NI Manager at Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland and has worked within the Geospatial Industry for over 10 years. Now Andrew is the Managed Service Lead at IMGS and works with clients across Ireland, delivering software support and creating data-driven solutions. Andrew’s main interests in the Geospatial field are in Remote Sensing and 3D geospatial data and is an advocate for using new technology to advance uptake of this in the Irish GIS community.

Andrew’s goal is to work closely with the board to expand the AGI community and offer more networking opportunities for geospatial professionals in Northern Ireland.

Hexagon Partner Conference 2024, Athens

Garrett Cronin, Commercial Mgr. IMGS and Ciaran Kirk, Operations Director IMGS, took to the stage with their presentation “Building Inspections with M. App Enterprise”, at the recent Hexagon 2024 Partner Conference in Athens on Friday March 1st.

It was another fantastic Hexagon Partner event with an impressive line-up of speakers and topics featured.

In lieu of sending physical cards this year, we prepared an on-line Christmas Card and will use the money saved, to make a donation to a local charity.

Our chosen charity this year is: The Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People.

IMGS to deliver an FME Accelerator Workshop at TUD Bolton St.

IMGS will deliver an FME Accelerator workshop to 4th Year Geographic Surveying Students in TUD Bolton Street on Friday 20th October 2023, from 12 noon – 2pm.

The FME Accelerator will show students the basics of how to automate their data integration workflows and connect to 450+ formats. 

Students will gain hands-on experience and have the chance to ask Certified FME consultants questions and get a brief overview of:

  • How FME can solve your data challenges.
  • Basics of using FME to integrate, automate and connect your data.

A team from IMGS and DataBuilders had the most fantastic day on Monday 29th May 2023, volunteering at the Peter McVerry Trust Mid-East Regional Service, Kerdiffstown House, Naas, Co. Kildare. 

We would like to thank all staff at Kerdiffstown House for making us feel so welcome and taking the time to tell us about the great work that they do and show us around their amazing facility. We painted fences, picnic tables and outdoor seating in the glorious sunshine!

IMGS & DataBuilders are pleased to announce the appointment of Gavin Park as group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) further strengthening our executive leadership team.

Gavin brings a wealth of experience spanning over two decades to the role. This experience will play a key role in our next phase of growth across both IMGS & DataBuilders.
