Can you describe your role at IMGS?
In short, I manage the helpdesk. I am generally the first point of contact for any issues raised from any of our customers. I investigate and triage the issues and either resolve them myself or bring in one of our engineers if needed.
What do you enjoy most about working at IMGS?
Having come in from a huge company in Apple, the change in dynamic is refreshing. I have a lot more freedom in how I can go about my work. Having direct access to the wealth of expertise is amazing. The team is so close knit it makes for a very pleasant working environment and I know I can rely on any of them when needed.
What would a perfect weekend look like?
A hike (ideally in sunshine), some football and a couple of pints.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have?
I have a bit of an eclectic collection of hobbies. I play Dungeons & Dragons with my friends each week and, once the weather picks up I spend quite a lot of time making knives in my garden. I had a home forge built but, since we’ve recently moved house, I have to set up a new one for the summer. I also dabble in Archery when time allows.

What's the one thing that you couldn't live without?
The gym. I go 4 to 5 times a week and it has been a game changer for me since I took it up seriously. For both my physical and mental health.
Who are some of your biggest influences?
Much of my life, especially in my younger years, revolved around sport, video games and books so my influences came from there mostly. People like Kenny Dalglish, Michael Jordan and J.R.R. Tolkien would have had a big influence on me growing up. Certain video game characters would have also stuck with me, characters like Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption or Ellie from the Last of Us. Characters with very evident flaws who make the best of their situations. I feel like there’s a lot to be learned from fictional people as well as those we encounter in real life.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Japan. I have a fascination with the history and culture of Japan. I would be very eager to see some of the old temples and see some of the traditional crafts and metallurgy.
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I would love to be a blacksmith for a day. Particularly working out of an old forge with traditional tools.
